Welcome to Carers-ID – an evidence-based programme to support family carers of those with intellectual disabilities following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Carers for those with Intellectual Disabilities (Carers-ID) is a research study which aims to support family carers through our online programme.

In the first phase of the study (Phase 1) we talked to family carers and voluntary sector organisations across the UK and Ireland, to understand their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic. We then used these experiences to develop, with the help of our partners and some carers, the Carers-ID online programme.

In this current phase (Phase 2) we are assessing whether the programme, and the methods we use to assess it, are capable of bringing about improvements to carers mental health.
